Using Content-Based Analytics to Mitigate Adverse Call Labeling of Legitimate Enterprise Communications
SP-03 Warning labels take different shapes and forms across the top service providers based on the data provided by carrier-partnered 3rd party analytics companies. Each of the top carriers offers a free service to block calls identified in the highest risk category by their third-party analytics. As such, calls identified as Scam, Scam Likely, Fraud Risk, or Potential Fraud (the exact terminology varies across service providers) can impede legitimate enterprise communications. in the battle against illegal robocalls, it is important to note that analytics approaches may be defined by two broad categories: (1) Event-based analytics and (2) Content-based analytics. Content-based analytics refers to an in-depth investigation of the phone call content to subjectively explain what has happened. Event-based analytics “relies on network signaling such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messages and other call related data.” In looking at both approaches, it’s important to take note of a few critical differences. Attendees of this session will learn the role and importance of content-based analytics technology and solutions to prevent inappropriate call labeling and remediation of telephone number reputation for legitimate enterprises.

Microsoft Teams has surpassed 300 million active users, and the most recent public statistics show that more than 15 million are telephony enabled. As the dominant collaboration platform, it is an easy choice for Microsoft-centric IT teams to choose Teams for their various IT needs. As customers increasingly adopt Teams, cloud providers are being asked to support them in ways that may threaten to undercut their UCaaS businesses. No cloud provider can take on Teams directly and win, so they must co-exist and somehow make the best of the situation. But, the telephony piece is anything but simple, and PSTN connectivity isn’t native to Microsoft. Providing an apples-to-apples experience going from desk phones and PBXs to Teams-based calling can be quite challenging. This is what creates opportunities for UCaaS providers. This session will explore the strategies that are available to UCaaS Providers to co-exist and win business in the Microsoft ecosystem.
